With supermodel Bar Rafaeli, better known as Leonardo DiCaprio's girlfriend, on the cover - Sports Illustrated has ensured that temperatures keep soaring, as its annual Swimsuit Issue hit the stands recently.
And for Leo's heartthrob, it is a dream come true. Rafaeli can now expect to be a super-celebrity.
"I mean it's not a secret. That's why it's every girl's dream to be in Sports Illustrated because it brings you up in an instant. And it gives you recognition and a lot of opportunities. it just makes the way so much quicker to get up there. So it really means a lot. It's an honour to be among all those names that were on the cover of Sports Illustrated and it's just a big thrill," said Bar Rafaeli, cover girl on the Swinsuit Issue of the Sports Illustrated.
But Refaeli isn't the only attraction in the issue. Speed Diva Danica Patrick has also struck a sexy pose in a teeny-weeny piece - certainly a treat for the fans of the Indycar driver.
And if you thought tennis players hit aces only on the court, there's a surprise. World number 39, Daniela Hantuchova took her time off to show her playful side on the beach as well, posing for the issue. She was joined by fellow tennis player Frenchwoman Tatiana Golovin. Russia's Maria Kirilenko completed the tennis troika with her own uninhibited style.
With so many hot women gracing the pages of Sports Illustrated, it is certainly not a surprise to find the subscriptions of Sports Illustrated skyrocketing hours after its release. For the figures, the sales went up 438 per cent in just six hours of its release, as reported in Weekly World News.
