Moscow, Jan 24 (Prensa Latina) The energy cooperation and the bilateral relations centered a phone dialogue Saturday between Russian President Dmitri Medvedev, and Japanese Prime Minister, Taro Aso, confirmed the Kremlin press office in this capital.
During the chat the successful advance of energy megaprojects in the Far East part of Russia was highlighted, impelled by the interrelation of the governments and the private sector of the two countries, the source said.
Corporations of Moscow and Tokyo collaborate in the exploitation of locations of hydrocarbons in the island of Sajalín, where there are the biggest grateful reservations of gas and petroleum of the Federation in the basin of the Pacific.
Medvedev and Aso met last November in Peru during the Summit of the Asia-Pacific Organization.
Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Serguei Lavrov, travelled to Japan at the beginning of November to discuss matters related with the signature of a peace treaty between Moscow and Tokyo, pendent since the end of World War II.
In that occasion both parts agree to foster bilateral efforts for the development of locations of gas and petroleum in eastern Siberia and to accelerate the negotiations on cooperation in the peaceful use of the nuclear energy.
Japan can cover less than 25 percent of its needs of atomic fuel and it is willing to buy Russia a third of all the enriched uranium Russia imports, Euro-Asian expert Anton Jlopkov said.
